The launch of Fourze S.H.Figuarts figures gave us three releases at once. The first obviously is Base States himself, featuring the Rocket and Drill Modules. Second is Module Set 01, which features Launcher, Radar, Magic Hand, and Camera. Third is the Stand & Effect Set, which gives us an exclusive Tamashii Stage, a Rocket Module boost effect, a tiny rubble patch for the Drill Module, a large Robot Damashii-esque stage for posing with the Drill Module. All are reasonably priced too!
Base States itself is a phenomenal figure. I’m not gonna go as far as to say best, but he’s loads better than Double CycloneJoker and OOO TaToBa were. No massive details are missing, no articulation is hindered, and all joints are tight and sturdy, I think this is a first for the main form of a new Rider. He comes with two sets of hands, a Rocket Module, and a Drill Module. Swapping isn’t too difficult, though I can see people who often fear breaking figures to start flipping a switch or two. While I’m not a huge fan of the show, I love the design, and I think the figure is great.
Module Set 01 includes Launcher (right leg), Radar (left arm), Magic Hand (right arm), and Camera Modules (left arm). Nothing else is included besides the pieces of the Fourze Driver: two for Magic Hand, one for Launcher (the other is with the figure originally), and two for Camera. None is included for Radar, probably because of the switch’s design. They’re pretty nice, articulated when necessary, and work the way they should. All require you take off the limb for each Module.
Finally, the Stand & Effect Set is really hit and miss. On one hand, the stage included looks really cool, the stage and small patch to support the Drill Module when standing looks nice as well. The Rocket Module booster effect LOOKS really nice. On display it really adds to the effect. Unfortunately, the design is rather flawed, where, despite the fact you have to pull all five boosters out, the only one that pegs in is a long middle stick. I don’t have a problem with mine, but I know others have problems with the effect staying in. So while it looks nice, the design is quite a bit flawed.
